What is video ripple?
Video ripple is a useful video and audio editing tool. It helps to maintain spacing when you have different items stacked together on a track. Deleting an item in a track causes an enormous gap. But with ripple editing enabled the gap can be removed and will allow you to maintain even spacing. When the track is deleted at a certain point, the items at the right move in to refill the gap and maintain the necessary timing connection between the tracks. It also works in the reverse. You can also add certain effects that will not disturb the timeline of the entire sequence.
How to use ripple editing in Adobe?
The first timeline shows the original edit and in the second timeline, the edit point between clips two and there has been advanced with a ripple edit. By clicking on the edit point with the Ripple Edit tool you can either choose a Ripple In or Ripple Out edit point selection, which depends on the side of the edit point you click. You can use Ctrl-click for Windows or Command-click for Mac OS on the edit point with the Ripple Edit tool.
