As I list down each type of e-commerce video, I&#8217;m also going to share what KPIs they influence. Platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat and LinkedIn have made it really easy to target users. You can tell them that the cart is going to be \"destroyed\" soon, or the items added to the cart are in high demand and are running out of stock. Send this after 72 hours (3 days). Offer them something they cannot refuse. Send this after 144 hours (6 days). Sales, offers and discount videos<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Another <a href=\"https:\/\/whidegroup.com\/blog\/sales-and-marketing-ecommerce-kpis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"metric you need to follow (opens in a new tab)\">metric you need to follow<\/a> very closely is&nbsp;<strong>New Customer Orders vs. Returning Customer Orders.<\/strong>&nbsp;Many e-commerce owners do the mistake of focussing their efforts on customer acquisition only. But customer retention is a whole new magical world. It can drive loyalty, word of mouth marketing, and higher-order values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To influence this KPI, you would want to be in constant touch with your customers. Reside in their inbox, on their phone, and at the very least, keep popping up in their social media feed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Video ads announcing holiday sales and discounts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Back in 2015, the online video ad market was only 10% of the size of the television ad market. By 2017, this went up to 14%! Zenith predicts this figure will increase to 23% in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As discussed earlier, social media is a great place to reach out to people. Make video ads that announce your discounts and offers boldly. Beat the drum. Get some attention. Add CTAs in the end, links in the description, and watch your sales go up. Add a list of items in this video that are relevant to the customer, products that they would potentially buy. You can get this data from their purchase history.
